1. The 's Music in the Zoo program continues with the program at 8 p.m. tonight. The outdoor venue is open to everyone and tickets can be purchased for around $57. 

2. Eagan's city-sponsored puppet shows begin today and run through Aug. 19. Held at area parks, the puppet shows are free of charge, start at 10 a.m. and last about 15 minutes each. Puppet shows are also being offered at 6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday evenings.

3. On this date in 1886, a four-mile log jam closed the St. Croix River at Taylors Falls. According to the Minnesota Historical Society, excursion trains traveled from Duluth to witness the chaotic event.
