Dakota County Powerball Ticket Winner Comes Forward, Report Says

Winner claims $228 million ticket, although the person has not yet been publicly identified.

5 Eyewitness News is reporting that the winner of a $228 million Powerball ticket sold in Dakota County has come forward.

The report on KSTP.com says the news outlet spoke with Minnesota acting lottery director Jenny Canfield, who said this is the largest prize in Minnesota's gambling history.

The state lottery will meet with the winner, who can take $123 million in cash now, or about $84 million after taxes, KSTP's report says. The other option is to collect the money over 30 years, they reported.
