Eagan Market Fest Wins Top Spots in Contest

Voters ranked the weekly Eagan farmer's market first in Minnesota, and among the top 20 in the country.

Eagan Market Fest has won top spots in a contest ranking farmer's markets across the country.

The contest, America's Favorite Farmers Markets, was hosted by conservation organization American Farmland Trust. Voting took place from June 1 to Aug. 31. Eagan Market Fest ranked first in Minnesota and 19th in large-size markets.

Kerry Phillips is recreation supervisor and Market Fest coordinator for the city. She's happy about the results.

"We’re very excited that our shoppers think enough of the market to have taken time out of their day to vote," she said. "It’s a big win for Eagan Market Fest."

The weekly farmers market runs through September, but closes at dusk as night arrives earlier.
