The sweltering heat will subside this weekend so we can start making plans to get outdoors. See what Patch recommends for fun filled activities to check out.

When/Where: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday; Thomas Lake Park, Eagan

Why Go: Partake in numerous free workshops about nutrition, empowerment and balance. Browse the vendor exhibits and investigate the many holistic services that will be available.

When/Where: Square dance Friday, 7-9 p.m., Blue grass Saturday, 5-10 p.m., and Gospel Sunday, 2-7 p.m.; Central Park, Rosemount

Why Go: Bring the family (and a blanket) to be entertained by talented, local musicians and dancers.

4. WATER WALKING

When/Where: 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday to Sunday; Aquatic Center, Apple Valley

Why Go: Try a new activity and walk against the current of the Lazy River. A cool, low impact strength training.
