Get Out: Weekend Events in and Around Eagan

  • When/Where:
    10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Sam's Club along Denmark Ave. in Eagan.
    Why Go:
    Active and retired military personnel and their spouses will receive a free pizza slice combo from the Eagan Sam's Club Café. Bring the certificate attached to this event in along with a valid military ID to Sam's Club to receive your pizza.

  • When/Where:
    10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14 at the Dodge Nature Center in West St. Paul.
    Why Go:
    Join a Dodge Nature Center Naturalist and introduce your preschool-aged child to the wondrous natural world. Topics will be explored through creative storytelling, music, puppetry, and more. Children can also learn about the earth by exploring art or visiting with live animals. This program is designed for children ages 3 to 5.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.  Pre-registration and pre-payment are required. To register, please call 651.455.4531. Cost is $14 for Non-members, $12 for Members.

  • Steve Clark at Pardon My French
    When/Where:
    7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, at in Eagan.
    Why Go:
    Sample from one of nine wine flights or try a praline, caramelise or Napoleon while you listen to the jazz/swing music of Steve Clarke and the Working Stiffs.

  • Red Bull Crashed Ice
    When/Where:
    The race begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14 outside the St. Paul Cathedral along Summit Ave. in St. Paul.
    Why Go:
    Take some of the best and toughest ice-hockey players in the world, a sizzling atmosphere, stunning surroundings, tonnes of steel, a huge cooling system and thousands of square metres of frozen water. The result? Red Bull Crashed Ice!Ice-hockey aces hurtle down courses up to 500 metres in length in groups of four, shoulder to shoulder, as they fight it out for victory. The whole race is held on a steep downhill track dotted with chicanes, jumps and rollers.
    Cost: The event is free and open to the public, although entrance to the 93X costs $15.
  • Ronald K. Brown: Evidence, A Dance Company
    When/Where:
    7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 15 at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in downtown St. Paul.
    Why Go:
    Ronald K. Brown's powerhouse dances mix West African, Cuban, Caribbean, and American modern dance to produce electrifying moves with a strong, spiritual base. His thrilling company of dancers, Evidence, will perform three works at the Ordway this Sunday. Brown's dances employ cultural music, poems, historical texts, spoken word, and letters to get the message across.
