Get Out: Weekend Events in and Around Eagan

  • When/Where: The first session is at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 2, at in Eagan.
    Why Go:
    A globally-recognized author and trainer is coming to YogaSoul Center in Eagan in March to teach the first in a series of meditation courses. The courses are designed to help participants develop a stronger sense of self so they can make every minute of life meaningful and effective. Anyone who is interested in meditation, reducing stress, and learning more about improving themselves is invited to one or more special workshops led by Dr. Gurucharan Singh Khalsa, a psychotherapist, teacher, writer and internationally known expert in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan.
    Cost: $35 per person.
  • Board Game Night at Lebanon Hills Regional Park
    When/Where: 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 2, at  in Eagan.
    Why Go:
    Bring your family and your favorite board game, or borrow on of ours, for a fun game night in the park. All ages welcome.
    Cost: Free.

  • When/Where:
    7:30 p.m. on March 1, 2 and 3 at .
    Why Go:
    The high school cast will present "The Real Inspector Hound". The comedy, written by Tom Stoppard in the mid-1960s, satirizes the Agatha Christie-esque mysteries that were popular at the time. As the plot unfolds, the story shifts back and forth between the conversation of two theater critics who are watching a murder mystery play and the actions of the characters in the play they are watching. The barrier between the audience and the actors gradually dissolves, and the critics eventually become involved in the murder mystery of the play that they were assigned to review.
    Cost: Tickets cost $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. For tickets, call 651-683-6964.
  • Stewart Huff at the Joke Joint Comedy Club
    When/Where:
    8 and 10:30 p.m. on Friday, March 2, and Saturday, March 3, at the Joke Joint Comedy Club in Lilydale.
    Why Go: Huff has a knack for embracing the foibles of humanity and his refreshing originality make him as likable as he is hilarious. A storyteller at heart, Huff continues to amaze with his clever material and personal wit. He was born in Campbellsville, Kentucky, and grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee. He has been performing comedy for over 15 years, beginning when he decided to drop out of college to become a writer. He currently tours theatres, comedy clubs and special events across the country.
    Cost: $15 at the door.

  • When/Where:
    6 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, at the in Apple Valley.
    Why Go:
    The Apple Valley Arts Foundation this year will sponsor free winter concerts, called the Frozen Apple Winter Concert Series. Each concert will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on a Saturday at the Apple Valley Community Center. On March 3, Menage a Neuf will perform. Food will be available for purchase.
