The social, hosted by the Fire Auxiliary, is one part fundraiser and one part awareness event. The sale of ice cream and other food helps the department raise money for the purchase of equipment, Eagan Deputy Fire Chief Pat Diloia said. But the department also takes the opportunity to help educate the public on fire safety through a bevy of activities and educational information provided at the event.
