"Pie Day" at Thomson Reuters Raises $3,000 for Charity Cause

The company's first pie auction raised a hefty gift for Feed My Starving Children. Pie bakers competed for the "Best Pie" honors.

What's better than a charity auction? A charity auction that serves delicious, homemade pies.

Thomson Reuters employees raised $3,000 for Feed My Starving Children at the company's first "Pie Day" event, according to a post on the Thomson Reuters' blog. Employees received a free slice of pie, then got a chance to bid on those homemade desserts during a lively auction. The pie bakers also competed for "Best Pie" awards.

Feed My Starving Children is an Eagan-based nonprofit hat provides food assistance to starving children in 70 countries, including Haiti, Zambia, Kenya and the Phillipines.
