An Eagan native who is studying at UW-Stout in Menomonie, Wis., had a hand in creating a video game that was declared the national co-champion earlier this month in the Electronic Entertainment Expo's (E3) first-ever College Game Competition, according to a press release issued by the university.
Connor VanDyke, of Eagan, is studying game design and development at UW-Stout, and served as an artist on Flash Frozen — a survival horror game that he helped create along with other members of his senior 3D Game Design class.

UW-Stout's game tied for first in the inaugural E-3 College Game Competition. The other co-champion was Lost in Thought, a game from Savannah (Ga.) College of Art and Design. The games were judged by leading professionals in the industry.
"This is an outstanding accomplishment from this talented and innovative group of students and their advisers," said Chancellor Charles W. Sorensen. "This award proves that students can come to UW-Stout and achieve great success on a national stage."
