Wescott Library Hosts Cultural Exchange Panel on Thursday

"Two Sides of the Mirror: Mutual Reflections of China and the U.S." is scheduled to run from 2 p.m. to 3:30 pm. this Thursday.

High school and college students from America and China will converge on Thursday at in Eagan at a cultural exchange panel hosted by the Dakota County Library.

"Two Sides of the Mirror: Mutual Reflections of China and the U.S." is scheduled to run from 2 p.m. to 3:30 pm. this Thursday. The students, from Shandong Polytechnic University, Macalester College, and Eagan High School, will talk about being Chinese-American in the United States and studying the Chinese language and culture in the United States. They will also answer questions from the audience. Eagan resident Yanmei Jiang, an English and Cultural Studies instructor and co-founder of Building Bridges Cultural Exchange, will moderate the panel.

Building Bridges Cultural Exchange, a co-sponsor of this event, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote cultural awareness and global citizenship between the United States and other countries in the world through cultural and educational exchanges.  The students from Shandong Polytechnic University are in Minnesota through the 2012 Cultural Immersion Camp, which is being underwritten with a generous donation from the Duff Endowment.
