Dakota County Libraries Hold Local Author Fair

The first-ever local author fair will include workshops, seminars, prize drawings and more.

Dozens of local mystery, non-fiction and children's book authors will converge on Saturday for the first-ever Dakota County Library Local Author Fair.

The fair, scheduled from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 21, will be held at the Western Services Center in Apple Valley. At 1 p.m., keynote speaker David Housewright will give a presentation. That event will be followed by two Loft Literary Center workshops: "Tips for Publication" at 2 p.m. and the "The Nuts & Bolts of Picture Book Writing"  at 3 p.m.

Book sales and prize drawings will be held throughout the fair, and a number of published writers will be on hand to visit with participants.
