Eagan High Grad Wins University of New Hampshire Soccer Honors

A.J. Albers, a freshman at the University of New Hampshire, won an award for most improved player.

A.J. Albers, a graduate of Eagan High School, has made a good impression on the soccer pitch during his freshman year at the University of New Hampshire.

The Eagan native won the Glenn Aborn Award for Most Improved Player after a freshman season in which he played in eight games and started four.

"Coming in for injured captain Josh Bronner, Albers' play was an integral part in the successful postseason run as the Wildcats posted three-consecutive shutouts en route to the America East Championship match," the college wrote in a press release.

Albers was presented with the award at the soccer team's annual banquet on April 21. The award was voted on by his teammates.
