'Elvis Lives' in Eagan, Chris Isaak Comes to MnZoo and the Puppet Wagon Hits Caponi Art Park

Rock 'n Roll is in the air during the waning days of summer here in the south metro, with a dash of folk, jazz and puppetry thrown in for good measure.

• Relive the hottest days of the 1980s with a concert by sultry crooner Chris Isaak. Isaak performs at 7:30 p.m. at the in Weesner Family Amphitheater, 13000 Zoo Boulevard in Apple Valley. This is an all ages event. 

•The city of Eagan's Puppet Wagon will roll into Wescott Library on Monday, July 22, at 6 p.m. Parents are advised to bring a chair or a blanket to the show, which is aimed at kids aged two to 10. 

• On July 23, Joan Griffith and Ruth Mackenzie will answer the question "What is Jazz?" during a performance at Caponi Art Park. The two use bass, voice, bells and percussion to "trace the history of jazz through field songs, spirituals, call and response, scat, rap and jam." Audience members will also have a chance to help them compose an original blues song.

• Eagan resident will have a brush with the ghost of The King, during the “Elvis Experience” with Steve and Tommy Marcio, a father-son tribute act to Elvis Presley. The concert will take place from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on July 24 at the bandshell at the Eagan Festival Grounds at Central Park, 1501 Central Parkway.

• Eagan's Wescott Library will be hosting "Ten Penny Tunes" on Thursday, July 25, at 10:30 a.m. The performance will explore folk music through the use of the penny whistle, accordion, saxophone and clarinet.
