BLOG: Fun and Artsy Fundraiser

A continuous crowd of supporters came all day to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church on Thursday to select their own locally handmade ceramic bowls, eat yummy soup in them and support the Eagan Foodshelf!

Hundreds of Eaganites and others flowed through the soup bowl line to select a locally, handmade ceramic bowl at the third annual "Empty Bowls" fundraiser for the Eagan Resource Center. Volunteers handwashed the selected bowls and served donated soups from local restaurants in the precious pottery pieces. A silent auction of 10 artistic pieces also added to the bottom line of "Empty Bowls." Makes me wonder why they don't do this fundraiser twice a year—I love the bowls, the soup and supporting Eagan Foodshelf!
