MEMORIAL DAY OBSERVANCE IN EAGAN, MONDAY, MAY 30, 2:00 pm

For the first time Eagan will have a Memorial Day ceremony and it will be at the new Tribute & Memorial Plaza.

For the first time, Eagan will be able to hold a Memorial Day ceremony and it will be at the new Tribute & Memorial site in Central Park, just up from the Band shell. The ceremony will be held on Monday, May 30, at 2 p.m. and there is a shelter in case of rain. The program will include an honor guard, pledge by Charles Hedges, WWII veteran and father of Tom Hedges. Eastview graduate and Miss Minnesota 2009, Brooke Kilgarriff will sing the national anthem.

Speakers include 2010 Eagan Senator Jim Carlson, Mayor Maguire,  Lt. Col. Joe Repya, representatives from the police & fire departments.  The ceremony will recognize and honor our fallen public servants. Following the retrieving of colors, there will be refreshments and social gathering.

Engraved pavers have been installed at the entrance to the Plaza for designated contributors. Fundraising continues to complete the Tribute & Memorial Plaza.  To donate check the website: www.eaganlionessmn.lionwap.org.
