Hi,
This is Katherine Wilmes, one of the six 2013-2014 Eagan Funfest Ambassadors. I am thirteen years old and attend Dakota Hills Middle School. This is my first blog as an Ambassador.
Wow! I can't believe it's already been more than a month since coronation. The whole night flew by so fast and I had the time of my life. Not only did I get to be dressed up in a beautiful gown, I was also surrounded by some of my best friends. It was an honor to support my fellow candidates as well as the 2012-2013 Ambassadors. The crowning was so nerve-wracking for us candidates. I was completely shocked to hear my name called first! As they called the remaining names, I cheered louder than I ever had before. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful group of girls to share this experience with!
We have already been at many events throughout our community and accumulated great memories. By far, my favorite event has been the St. Paul Park Heritage Days parade. We had so much fun meeting royalty from other cities. I made lots of new friends including the new Woodbury and Inver Grove candidates!
This parade was our first parade in convertibles. It was really exciting and interesting to be so close to the people watching the parade. A big thank you to everyone who helped arrange the convertibles. It makes the waves come even easier and the smiles become even more genuine!
It is such an amazing honor to be representing this great city and festival. Three months ago, I would've never dreamed I would have the privilege of saying "I am an Eagan Funfest Ambassador". Thank you so much to my sponsor, The Art of Framing, and to everyone that helped make this possible!
