District 196 Superintendent: Thank You School Counselors

Please join us in recognizing the work of the 31 school counselors in our middle schools and high schools in District 196. National School Counseling Week is being celebrated this week (February 4-8) to highlight the impact school counselors have in helping students achieve success in school and planning for their post-secondary education and careers. As part of the celebration, District 196 counselors are thanking staff and students for the positive contributions they make to the success of our school counseling programs.

Nine district debaters qualify for national tournament

Congratulations to the nine students who will be representing District 196 in the debate events at this year’s National Forensic League Speech and Debate Tournament. In Lincoln-Douglas debate, the national qualifiers are Miriam Kelberg of Apple Valley High School, Nurry Goren of Eagan High School and Ryan Mather of Eastview High School. In public forum debate, the qualifying teams are Maxwell Minkser and Sophia Callahan, and Alexandra Rosati and Mollie Clark of Eagan, and Ryan McGuire andLindsey Wanberg of Eastview. Additional qualifying events will be held this spring for the speech portion of this year’s national tournament, which will be held in June in Birmingham, Ala.
