A Christmas Eve Chase and a Shopping Spree: Eagan Police Blotter

A cashier allowed family members to take home $1,400 worth of merchandise without paying for it.

On Christmas Eve, a woman observed shoplifting from Walmart in Eagan ended up in jail.

At 6:53 p.m. Eagan police received a report that a woman parked her car in front of Kohls on Town Center Drive and was loading stolen items from Walmart into her car, saying “I don’t care.” After loading the car, she refused to stop for police, leading them on a chase.

Police were able to force her car to a stop on Highway 13. After she was cleared at Regina Medical Center, the woman was booked into Dakota County jail for theft, fleeing police and driving without car insurance. Her vehicle was towed.

Dec. 23

6:34 p.m. - A Kohl’s cashier was arrested for theft. According to the report, she rang up family members and did not charge them for $1,400 worth of merchandise. She also gave $800 in discounts on the merchandise that they did purchase. The credit card that was used to purchase items may have been stolen.

9:06 p.m. - A resident on the 500 block of Tyne Lane arrived home to find a back window of his home smashed. Someone stole electronics, checkbooks, coins and Christmas presents.

Dec. 25

9:04 a.m. - A burglar broke out the glass of a window a Cinnamon Ridge apartment unit. A patio door was also open. The unit had been ransacked, but multiple expensive electronics remained in the apartment.

12:52 p.m. - A man reported a theft from his vehicle. It was the fourth time such theft had occurred.

10:52 p.m. - A burglar stole “everything of value” from an apartment on the 3000 block of Eagandale Place. A key may have been made to the apartment unit and the woman who reported the crime had information on a suspect, an ex-friend.
