Blotter: Eagan Couple Arrives Home, Catches Burglar in the Act

Nov. 2

5:25 p.m.—Police responded to a domestic call on the 1100 block of Timbershore Ln. A hysterical child told police over the phone that mom and dad were fighting. The mother eventually got on the phone with officers, and told police she broke a glass bowl over the man's head, and that he was bleeding heavily. Police responded to the residence and learned that the female also threw taco meat on the man and spit on him because he was being "rude".

Nov. 3

8:13 a.m.—Police responded to a damage to property call on 3800 Riverton Ave. The caller told officers that the back window of his vehicle had been shot out, possibly with a pellet gun. The man was one of a number of victims who reported that the back windows of their cars had been broken out overnight.

5:59 p.m.—Police responded to a personal injury accident at the intersection of Duckwood Dr. and Pilot Knob Road. Two cars were involved in a rear-end collision. One driver was transported to Ridges Hospital complaining of back pain.

Nov. 4

11:04 a.m.—Police responded to a mental health-related call on the 2000 block of Emerald Ln. The reporting party told police that another man was waiting for him when he came home, and told the victim to kill himself or he would be killed. The victim told police he believes his ex-domestic partner put a hit out on him. The reporting party also told officers that he doesn't carry weapons, but that his hands are legally considered weapons because of his training as an ex-Marine.

9:27 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 3600 block of Blue Jay Way. The reporting party told police that he returned home to find his house broken into. The garage door was pried open, but the house is vacant, so nothing was stolen or damaged.

Nov. 6

12:45 a.m.—Police responded to the McDonalds Restaurant at 1351 Town Centre Dr. The caller told police that a customer in the drive-thru was getting out of control. The caller told police the customer, driving a van, got out of the vehicle and tried to hit the employee inside the cashier's window.

2:51 a.m.—Police responded to a check welfare call at the 4100 block of Rahn Rd. The caller told police that someone was scraping on the wall outside their apartment door, and was now laying on the floor outside the door. The caller was afraid someone was trying to burglarize the apartment. Police responded and discovered an intoxicated male laying on the floor outside the reporting party's door.

9:06 a.m.—Police responded to a child protection call on the 3800 block of Silver Bell Rd. The caller, a therapist at the school, told police she witnessed a male abusing a disabled teenager at the school. Police took a report and forwarded it to child protection services to follow up.

12:28 p.m.—Police responded to a theft report on the 1700 block of Cliff Rd. The caller told police that someone stole two wedding rings, and believes the theft happened sometime in late September. The reporting party told police that her house is currently on the market and there have been quite a few showings and open houses.

2:58 a.m.—Police responded to the Wells Fargo on 3390 Pilot Knob road on a fraud call. The caller told police that two people were inside the bank and both were trying to cash fraudulent checks for $2,000. Both males eventually left the store, but were stopped and arrested by police while walking on foot near the MVTA transit station.

5:54 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 1700 block of Drake Dr. The caller told police she and her husband arrived home and interrupted a burglary in progress, and that they witnessed a man dressed in black flee from their house. Police set up a perimeter and brough a K-9 unit in to search for the burglar, but were unable to find the suspect. Police found signs of forced entry on the back porch door.

Nov. 7

12:21 a.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person incident at the intersection of Jasper Dr. and Sandstone Dr. Two people were in a car when an officer pulled up and discovered them smoking weed. The female passenger was found to be in possession of $782, prescription medications that she didn't have a prescription for and paraphernalia. The female was transported to jail, and another mail occupant cited for possession of marijuana.

12:08 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call at Simply Self Storage at 4025 Hwy. 13. The caller told police that a male party was trying to break into a storage unit. To prevent the burglar from escaping, the customer whose unit was being burgled parked his truck at the exit of the storage facility. Police arrested one male.

5:18 p.m.—Police responded to a domestic call on the 3200 block of Rolling Hills Drive. The caller told police that her brother had kicked her and punched their mother. Police arrived at the home, and learned that the juvenile brother and sister had been fighting over a burnt pizza, and that the mother broke it up. The sister called 911 because she was tired of her brother arguing with her all the time.

9:58 p.m.—Police responded to a domestic call on the 4500 block of Scott Trl. The caller told police her boyfriend had choked her for 10-12 seconds with both hands around her neck. He then left the residence.
