Blotter: 7-Year-Old Stabs Mother, Thrown Fruit Breaks Car Mirror

Dec. 12

3:10 p.m.—The day after a teller at the U.S. Federal Credit Union was fired, she returned to the branch office at 2825 Lone Oak Parkway and tried to steal $10,000 worth of postal money orders.

Dec. 13

1:09 a.m.—Police responded to a call from the Wal-Mart at 1360 Town Centre Drive where about five 17- to 18-year-olds had taken clothes and stuffed them into backpacks and purses.

Dec. 14

6:42 a.m.—Police responded to a call about a Caterpillar stolen overnight from the Minnesota Valley Transit Center on Highway 13.

8:44 a.m.—A woman called police after her 7-year-old son stabbed her in the hand with a knife and pulled out some of her hair. The boy, who has been diagnosed with autism, was sitting calmly in the living room of his home in Cinnamon Ridge Apartments when police arrived. The mother was able to take the knife from her son and declined an ambulance.

11:45 a.m.—A woman claiming that someone had hacked into her Wal-Mart account and purchased items made a report at the Eagan Police Department.

5:54 p.m.—Someone threw fruit at a car driving near the intersection of Lexington Avenue and Westbury Drive, breaking off the car’s driver’s side mirror. It was unclear from the police report what type of fruit packed such a wallop.

Dec. 15

9:37 a.m.—Police responded to a call on the 3400 block of Golfview Drive about a man throwing “iceballs,” trying to get into the building. The man was arrested on a probation violation warrant and told police he was trying to contact a female resident.

6:20 p.m.—Two men were involved in a road rage-related fight in the parking lot of the MGM liquor store at 182 Pilot Knob Road. When police arrived, one man was on the ground, bleeding profusely, after being slammed against his vehicle and the ground. His nose and wrist were both injured, possible broken. The other man had fled in his car by the time police arrived.

Dec. 16

3:24 a.m.—The residents of a home on the 3200 block of Valley Ridge Drive called police after someone drove their silver Volkswagen Jetta into the house. The car’s driver, tried to maneuver the vehicle up a walking path and through a 4-foot-wide opening with a 5-foot-wide car. Police suspect the driver, who could not be located, was suicidal.

8:04 p.m.—Police responded to a call from a man on the 700 block of Hackmore Drive about his “out-of-control” 18-year-old son. The man told police his son is often drunk and “usually smokes pot.” The son was taken to Region’s Hospital for a pre-existing injury to his hand.

Dec. 17

1 a.m.—Police responded to a domestic call on the 3900 block of Valley View Drive. A man was trying to kick a woman and her 2-year-old child. The man was directing obscenities at the child and throwing the woman’s items off of the balcony. The man was arrested for fifth degree domestic assault.
