Blotter: Father Says Son Stole His Casino Winnings

Officers responded to several theft and threats/stalking calls, according to the Eagan police reports for Mar. 6-12.

Mar. 6

10:26 a.m.—Police responded to a threats/stalking incident on the 1700 block of Yankee Doodle Rd. The reporting party told officers he or she had received a letter threatening to shoot someone. Police took the letter to be printed.

12:49 p.m.—Police responded to a criminal sexual conduct call on the 2200 block of Diffley Rd.

3:13 p.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person report from the 1800 block of Silver Bell Rd. The reporting party, a 66-year-old man, told police that a suspect called him on the phone, identified himself as a Microsoft technician and convinced him to pay $300 for a scan of his computer to remove viruses.

11:57 p.m.—Police responded to a threats/stalking report on the 900 block of Wescott Sq. A woman told police that she is receiving harassing emails from a family member she testified against at one point.

Mar. 8

4:31 p.m.—Police responded to a theft report on the 4500 block of Villa Dr. A woman told police that she was upstairs sleeping when she heard something inside her home. At first, the woman thought it was her son, but then she heard a male voice say "Don't leave a note, they'll never know we were here." The woman claims there were two men in her house, one of whom was a city employee. She told police she thought they were in her hour to make repairs on a water meter, but stole her digital camera. 

9:08 p.m.—A father who claims his son took his Mystic Lake Casino winnings and won't give them back visited the Eagan Police Department to file a report with the department. The man told officers he won $56,250 in January and gave it to his son to hold onto. The father claims the son still owes him $26,000, but the son claims to have returned all the money minus $10,000 that his father owed him. Police advised the father to go to small claims court.

Mar. 12

2:44 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 4800 block of Red Pine Ct. The reporting party told officers that someone took a Calloway golf bag out of his truck while it was parked in a garage.

2:55 p.m.—Police responded to a theft report at a hotel on the 2700 block of Pilot Knob Rd. A guest at the hotel told officers that someone broke out a window in his vehicle and took two suitcases.

6:22 p.m.—Police responded to a theft call on the 4700 block of Burr Oak St. The reporting party told officers that someone stole a computer, camera and backpack from a car sometime 10 .m. and 6 a.m. A known car prowler who lives in the area was seen around 6 a.m., according to the reporting party.
