Blotter: Wandering Cat Prompts Threatening Letter from Neighbor

Police responded to several domestic calls, a reckless driving incident and a robbery, according to Eagan police reports from April 24-29.

April 24

6:53 p.m.—Police cited a man for reckless driving following a traffic accident that occured near the 800 block of Wilderness Run Road. The man was using his car to "drift" around a corner in the road when he struck a parked car, severely damaging both vehicles.

10:22 p.m.—Eagan police responded to a domestic dispute on the 1900 block of Berkshire Drive in Eagan. The caller told police a man had headbutted his wife and punched his son. Police determined the man had been drinking and took him into custody.

April 26

8:42 a.m.—An Eagan resident contacted police after his neighbor sent him a threatening letter. The source of their dispute? The man's cat was constantly outside in the neighbor's garden. Police issued a warning to the neighbor.

11:56 a.m.—Police responded to a criminal sexual conduct incident on the 1000 block of Blue Gentian Rd. The caller told police he found a phone in the men's restroom with pornographic images of children stored in the phone's memory.

April 27

11:20 a.m.—Police responded to a robbery call at the intersection of Calvin Court and Dodd Road.

3:17 p.m.—Police responded to a disturbing the peace call on the 4100 block of Durham Court. A woman told police that her father and sister were knocking on her door. When the victim refused to answer, the pair broke down her door. The woman told police both her father and sister are verbally abusive toward her, and that she is trying to sever all ties.

4:46 p.m.—Police responded to a theft call on the 4300 block of Sequoia Drive. The reporting party told police that he hosted a party last night, and that uninvited guests arrived and stole a laptop and camera from the house.

11:57 p.m.—Eagan police responded to a mental health crisis call near the intersection of Hwy. 13 and Rustic Hills Drive. The caller told police a suicidal, 20-year-old male disappeared after drinking. The reporting parties also told police they heard the man screaming as a train went past on a nearly railroad track. Police initiated a search for the man, eventually calling in a helicopter to help find the person. Police were unable to locate the man.

April 29

8:09 a.m.—Police responded to a domestic call on the 4300 block of Metcalf Drive. The caller reported his teenage niece was "going nuts" and attacked his wife prior to threatening to kill everyone. The niece, who was diagnosed with schizophrenia, was transported to United Hospital.

10:17 a.m.—Police responded to a medical call on the 1300 block of High Site Drive. A caller told emergency responders that a 22-year-old male was suffering from a heroin-induced seizure. Two people were charged with fifth-degree drug possession following the arrival of emergency responders.
