Body of Anarae Schunk Found in Lonsdale, Rosemount Police Confirm

Anarae Schunk was last seen by her family on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Rosemount police have confirmed the worst for the family of Anarae Schunk, the 20-year-old University of Minnesota student last seen by her family on Sept. 21. The body that was found Monday afternoon in Rice County is hers.

Employees found her body around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, according to the Star Tribune. She was in a ditch beside a road in Rice County about 35 miles from Rosemount, the paper reported.

The family provided investigators with dental records Monday night.

Schunk was last seen at the location of the fatal shooting of Palagor Obang Jobi. Two Dakota County residents were charged in the investigation: Anthony Nelson (Schunk's ex-boyfriend) and his current girlfriend, Ashley Conrade.

Schunk returned to Conrade's home in Rosemount with Conrade and Nelson after the shooting, Conrade told Burnsville police. However, neither Conrade, Nelson or others that police questioned provided any information about Schunk's whereabouts, police said in an earlier news release.

Burnsville police told the family late last week they believed she was dead. Her bloody jacket had been found with 20 holes in it that could be stab wounds.

The discovery of Schunk's body could help investigators develop evidence leading to charges, KARE11 reported.
