Dakota County Sheriff Dave Bellows, Officers Take the Plunge

Dakota County Sheriff Dave Bellows and a handful of deputies and Sheriff's Office Explorers dove into the frigid waters of Crystal Lake last Saturday as part of the South Metro Polar Plunge.
More than 1,000 participants raised $250,000 for the Special Olympics during the event. The Explorers along raised roughly $5,200 for the event, the Sheriff's Office dive team helped remove ice for the plunge and Sheriff's Deputy Jen Lenarz helped organize much of the event.
