July 28

A caller in the 4200 block of Braddock Trail reported that someone stole beer and sunglasses from a garage.

Police responded to a woman in the 3200 block of Coachman Road who said her ex-boyfriend was refusing to leave. She told police that he pushed her down twice, ripped her shirt and hit her in the face, and that he has assaulted her in the past. The man was cited for fifth-degree domestic assault.

Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at Diffley Road and Johnny Cake Ridge Road. Witnesses said an SUV turned into the path of a passenger car; the SUV driver was cited.

Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at Central Parkway and Yankee Doodle Road. One driver rear-ended another. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

A woman in the 1900 block of Gold Trail told police that her ex-boyfriend, against whom she has a restraining order, is harassing her and has threatened to kill her. She said the suspect is in Texas.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 2000 block of Jade Lane in which a 15-year-old girl said she was trying to leave, and her mother was “slapping her around.” Police determined it was a verbal argument and there was no physical contact.

A caller in the 2200 block of Rocky Rapids Way reported that someone had broken both panes of a picture window in her home.

Police responded to a hit-and-run accident at Cliff Drive and Cliff Road in which a car struck another one as it left a parking lot.

A caller in the 900 block of Wescott Trail reported a theft from a garage.

Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at Central Parkway and Pilot Knob Road.

A caller in the 3800 block of Big Timber Trail reported that someone broke into a car overnight and stole a Garmin GPS unit.

A caller in the 3000 block of Shields Drive reported that someone stole a Toyota Camry sometime between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance at Cedar Grove Parkway and Rahn Road.

A caller in the 2000 block of Coral Lane reported that he had just seen two teenage boys steal two bicycles from the front yard of his neighbor’s house.

July 29

A caller in the 3700 block of Wescott Hills Drive reported that someone broke into a vehicle and stole items including a garage door opener.

Police stopped a suspected drunk driver at Denmark Avenue and Yankee Doodle Road. The 54-year-old driver was cited and released to his son.

A caller in the 3500 block of Blue Jay Way reported that someone stole her Jeep Grand Cherokee. She told police she would check to make sure it hadn’t been repossessed.

A caller in the 1400 block of Rocky Lane reported an overnight hit-and-run in which someone hit a parked car and left the scene.

A resident in the 700 block of Granite Drive reported that someone broke into his car, which was parked in the driveway, and stole a GPS unit and $45 in cash.

A caller in the 1000 block of Tiffany Drive reported that someone shot the back window of a car and a bay window on a house with a BB gun. One pane of the bay window was broken out.

A caller reported that someone stole $625 worth of extension cable from the Duckwood Drive/I-35E construction site.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1800 block of Trailway Drive. A 16-year-old girl told police that she and her mother argued over taking out the trash, and her mother threw her to the ground and choked her. The girl’s mother said the fight was over the girl staying in bed until noon and failing to take out the trash. She said the girl was screaming profanity at her, and the mother put her hand over her daughter’s mouth. The girl was picked up by a friend.

A caller in the 2000 block of Emerald Lane reported that two men whom she hired on Craigslist to work on a retaining wall apparently stole a Social Security card, a passport, citizenship papers, cash and jewelry from a safe that she found broken open.

Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at Blue Cross Road and Yankee Doodle Road. Both drivers were cited.

Police responded to a three-car accident at Buffet Way and Corporate Center Drive. One driver made a hard right turn from the left-turn lane, striking another car, which in turn struck a third car. The first driver was cited for not exercising due care.

Police responded to a restaurant on 150th Street West on a report of a man who needed assistance. The caller reported that the man staggered into the restaurant, then left and was trying to back his car out when he hit another vehicle. The man was taken to a hospital.

A caller in the 4500 block of Villa Drive reported that a Wii had been stolen from his home while he was out of town. He told police he suspected that his son had stolen the game unit and pawned it.

Police responded to the Cub Foods store at 1020 Diffley Road on a report of a shoplifter in custody. A 60-year-old woman was cited for theft.

Police responded to a report of loud music and the smell of marijuana at a hotel in the 4500 block Erin Drive. The clerk told police that she saw several males run away before officers arrived. The clerk called again later and gave police a room number. A 27-year-old man was cited for marijuana possession.

A caller in the 4900 block of Pine Lane told police that he had sold an item on Craigslist for $400 and received a check for $2,000, with instructions to return the difference to the buyer. He told police that he suspected it was an attempted scam.

Police responded to a report of a man who had just fallen onto the grass at Pilot Knob Road and Yankee Doodle Road. The caller said the man had been stumbling before he fell. Police took the 40-year-old man to detox.

Police arrested a 30-year-old man for assault after a woman in the 4500 block of Slater Road called to report the incident. The woman was taken to a hospital after she passed out and began vomiting.  

A restaurant employee in the 2100 block of Cliff Road reported that a customer had called and threatened to come up and beat up the employee after complaining about a pizza that had been delivered earlier.

July 30

A caller told police that he had been chatting with a female friend on Skype when she said she was sick of being alive and wanted to “end it.” Police checked on the woman and determined that she was safe.

A caller in the 3000 block of Eagandale Place told police that he was walking back to his hotel from a gas station when someone jumped him.

Police checked on the welfare of 44-year-old woman in the 1600 block of Oak Ridge Circle who was reportedly suicidal. The woman, who is bipolar, said she didn’t want to live. The caller said he didn’t know whether the woman had been taking her medication.

Police cited a 17-year-old boy in the 3000 block of Eagandale Place for underage drinking, underage smoking and a curfew violation, and took him to detox.

A caller in the 4200 block of Dartmouth Court told police that someone broke into a car overnight and took two tablet computers, two wireless keyboards and miscellaneous cables, all valued at $1,500. Police found fingerprints on the door and took a DNA sample from the glove box.

A caller told police that some smashed the window of his car in the 1300 block of Carriage Hill Drive and stole his wallet.

A caller in the 600 block of Atlantic Hills Drive reported that a stereo was stolen from a car parked in the driveway overnight.

A caller in the 4100 block of Oakbrooke Trail told police that she was locked in her bathroom because her 12-year-old daughter was upset because she couldn’t borrow a necklace and was repeatedly kicking a bedroom door. The girl was charged with domestic assault and damage to property.

Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at Diffley Road and Johnny Cake Ridge Road. One driver said he had been trying to beat a yellow light, but didn’t make it.

A Richfield woman told police that someone had used her checking account to open a Sam’s Club membership, and then had charged $800 there.

Police responded to an attempted suicide report in the 4500 block of Slater Road. The caller said a neighbor was talking about taking all of his medication at once. The man was taken to a hospital.

Police responded to a 911 hangup in the 3200 block of Hill Ridge Drive. The caller yelled “My dad” and then disconnected the call. A 13-year-old girl was placed on a mental health hold and taken to a clinic.

Police cited a 27-year-old man for DWI in the 3800 block of Cedar Grove Parkway.

Police cited a 21-year-old man in the 700 block of Caribou Lane for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and a 20-year-old man for no proof of insurance.

July 31

Police cited a driver at Cedar Avenue and Cliff Road for DWI.

Police responded to a report of a bicyclist hit by a car at Denmark Avenue and Promenade Place. The 22-year-old woman driving the car was cited for failure to yield.

A caller in the 3500 block of Lexington Avenue reported that someone hit his car and left the scene.

An employee of Anytime Fitness at 1985 Silver Bell Road told police that she had found a large amount of discarded electronics in the business’ Dumpster.

Police responded to a report of a possible drowning in Fish Lake Park. A 37-year-old man was rescued from the lake by a bystander.
