Eagan Police Blotter: Oct. 2-4

Oct. 2

-A caller in the 4100 block of Durham Court reported that a male was shooting squirrels, sticking a gun out of a patio door and firing. Police tracked down the suspect and forwarded information to the Department of Natural Resources for prosecution.

-A caller in the 4300 block of Cinnamon Ridge Trail reported that an argument between a brother and sister. The 16-year-old boy was angry because his sister took his sweatshirt, and said when she got home he was going to “beat her up.” The two pushed one another, but police determined that there was no assault.

-A caller in the 3700 block of Wescott Hills Drive reported that her 15-year-old son was “out of control.” Police determined that the boy was an incorrigible juvenile with mental health issues and advised the parents to call again if he “acted up.”

-A caller in the 3900 block of Rahn Road reported that her 13-year-old son was violent, throwing and breaking items. The boy was taken to a hospital.

-A caller in the 3500 block of Federal Drive reported that a friend had posted a message on Facebook that said, “Suicide … why not.” Crisis counselors contacted the woman and determined that she was not an “immediate threat to herself” and was seeking help.

-A caller in the 4400 block of Mallard Court reported that his 15-year-old daughter was out of control. He said the girl was “being defiant” and wanted to leave the house, and he grabbed her to keep her home.

Oct. 3

-Police stopped a motorist at Golfview Drive and Lexington Avenue and cited the driver for DUI.

-A caller in the 900 block of Wild Rose Court reported that someone broke into his car while it was parked in his driveway and took items.

-A caller in the 3700 block of Blackhawk Ridge Circle reported that a car parked on the street overnight had been stolen.

-A caller in the 1900 block of Ruby Court South reported a theft from a vehicle.

-Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at Deerwood Drive and Pilot Knob Road. One vehicle ran a red light; one driver was taken to a hospital.

-A caller in the 4600 block of Westwood Lane reported that someone smashed a front door on a home.

-A caller in the 3800 block of Alder Lane reported that someone stole two hand-painted plates and two Hummel figurines from a storage room.

-A caller in the 3700 block of Blackhawk Ridge Place reported that someone broke into a van overnight, stole two packs of cigarettes and damaged the vehicle’s center console.

-A caller in the 3600 block of Falcon Way reported that someone stole her purse from her unlocked car overnight.

-A caller in the 1400 block of Blackhawk Lake Drive reported that someone broke into a vehicle overnight.

-A caller in the 1500 block of Blackhawk Lake Drive reported that someone broke into a car and took items.

-A U.S. postal employee reported that someone found marijuana in the post office.

-A caller in the 3600 block of Falcon Way reported that someone stole items from her unlocked car while it was parked in her driveway.

-A caller in the 3300 block of Coachman Road reported a 5-year-old boy left home alone and wandering the hallways at an apartment complex. Police found the child’s aunt, who said she had left the child alone for no more than five minutes.

-A caller at Gold Point and Gold Trail reported that someone was dumping trash into her Dumpster. Police located mail in the trash and spoke to the owner, who said her 8-year-old son must be dumping the trash. Police gave the trash back.

-A caller in the 1200 block of Town Centre Drive reported a man and woman arguing in a restaurant parking lot, with the man choking the woman. The woman told police that they were “just playing around,” and the man didn’t answer his phone when police tried to contact him.

-Police responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 3400 block of Pilot Knob Road. There were no injuries.

-A caller in the 3700 block of Blackhawk Lake Court reported that someone ransacked an unlocked car overnight and took about $5 in quarters. The caller found a set of house keys on a keychain in the driveway.

-A caller in the 4500 block of Villa Drive reported that someone stole six checks from her checkbook and passed one for $660 in Maplewood. She was advised to file a fraud report with Maplewood police.

-A caller in the 3300 block of Coachman Road reported that he was robbed at gunpoint at a car wash and was driving around looking for the suspect. Police called in a K-9 unit and a helicopter and set up a perimeter to find the suspect.

Oct. 4

-Police stopped a vehicle at Englert Road and Pilot Knob Road and cited the driver for DWI.

-Police responded to a residence in the 3400 block of Golfview Drive after receiving a 911 call that was disconnected. They found two people arguing with each other, both intoxicated. Neither wanted to press charges; the man was given a ride home to Burnsville.

-A caller in the 800 block of Wescott Square reported an argument between an 18-year-old and his parents. Police determined that the argument was verbal only; no charges were filed.

-Police stopped a vehicle at Jurdy Road and Pilot Knob Road and cited the driver for possession of marijuana and having the wrong address on his driver’s license.

-Three callers in the 2100 block of Shale Lane reported that someone took three GPS units from cars overnight.

-A caller in the 4500 block of Slater Road reported that he was assaulted by a woman against whom he has a no-contact order. He told police that the woman pulled his hair and “sucker-punched” him; the victim suffered a possible broken nose, a possible broken eye socket, bites on his hands and bruising. The woman faces felony domestic assault charges.

-Police responded to a hit-and-run accident in the 1300 block of Town Centre Drive. Police tracked down the other driver at her home, and she agreed to exchange insurance information with the victim.

-A caller in the 1300 block of Town Centre Drive reported that her boyfriend stole her credit card and used it at several locations in Eagan.

-A caller in the 2000 block of Copper Lane reported that someone broke into a vehicle overnight and stole $5 in change and a tire gauge.

-An employee at Northview Elementary School reported that a child had given cookies to a special-needs child, and she was concerned because she didn’t know the source of the cookies or whether the other child has allergies.

-A caller in the 2000 block of Shale Lane reported that someone broke into her car overnight and took about $5 in change.

-A caller in the 1100 block of Town Centre Drive reported a man yelling at his mother, calling her names and refusing to leave. Police responded and convinced the man to leave.

-A caller in the 1900 block of Silver Bell Road reported that his female friend was “really drunk” and had passed out. The woman was taken to detox.

-A caller in the 500 block of Opperman Drive reported that the father of her child, against whom she had a restraining order, had been contacting her at work.

-A caller in the 4600 block of Penkwe Way reported that her son had smashed the windshield of her car and was inside, damaging the house. The son told police that he was “mentally disturbed” and needed to be arrested; he said his mother was abusive and the stress led him to “act out.” The man was arrested for domestic assault and criminal damage to property.

-A caller in the 4500 block of Slater Road reported hearing two men screaming at one another beside a woman in a car. Two more men arrived and all four were arguing, the caller said, and when the woman tried to drive away they threw things at her car. Police arrested one man for violating a no-contact order against the woman.

-Police stopped a vehicle at Cliff Drive and Nicols Road and arrested the driver for DWI.
