Eagan Woman Killed in Saturday Car Wreck

Amanda Jo Lynch, 25, was hit and killed by a car after she lost control of her Dodge Durango and was ejected into traffic.

A 25-year-old Eagan woman identified as Amanda Jo Lynch was killed Saturday morning in Maple Grove after she rolled her vehicle and was ejected into oncoming traffic, a family member confirmed.

Minnesota State Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske wouldn't confirm Lynch's identity, but said the driver was heading north on Interstate 494 with her 2-year-old daughter at about 7:17 a.m. when she lost control of her Dodge Durango near Bass Lake Road and it hit the median and rolled over.

Lynch was ejected into southbound traffic, where a Toyota Camry, driven by a 51-year-old woman, hit and killed her, according to the state patrol.

Lynch's daughter, Baylee, was strapped into a car seat, Roeske said, and it appeared she was uninjured. She was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, he said, and has since been released to family.

Icy road conditions might have contributed to Lynch losing control of the car, Roeske said. He also said there's no evidence she was wearing a seat belt.

Lynch was a good mother, daughter and sister, said her aunt, Donna Wilebski.

"She always cared about other people," Wilebski said. "If she could help you, she would."

Lynch, who worked at Cooper's Restaurant in Eagan, was driving to Bemidji with a birthday gift for her friend's 1-year-old child, Wilebski said. Lynch was also engaged to be married, and was going to work on wedding plans with the friend, who was a member of the wedding party, Wilebski said.

Lynch was always polite, her aunt said, and she always made the people around her smile.

"She'll be loved and missed," Wilebski said.

Friends have started leaving condolences and sharing memories on Lynch’s Facebook page.

Erika Brown, who met Lynch in fifth grade and graduated with her in 2003 from Farmington High School, told Patch that Lynch was always a happy person when they knew each other in school.

“She was a social butterfly,” Brown said Saturday.
