Man Sentenced for Sexual Abuse of 12-Year-Old Boy

Thomas Henry Bundy, formerly of Eagan, will serve a year in the Dakota County Jail after sexual encounter with a juvenile last summer.

A former Eagan man who pleaded guilty last month to having sexual contact with a 12-year-old boy in Eagan has been sentenced to a year in jail.

Thomas Henry Bundy, 51, was charged last summer with first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a 12-year-old boy who had been visiting his home in May 2011.

Bundy admitted to his wife that he had “inappropriately touched” the boy. The victim told medical authorities that Bundy had performed oral sex on him and had asked him to reciprocate, but the child refused.

Bundy was sentenced in June to 12 years in prison, with the sentence stayed for 20 years if he follows the court’s conditions. He will serve a year in the Dakota County Jail in Hastings, where he reported last week.

The court imposed a number of conditions on Bundy, including ordering him to have no contact with the victim or any other minor children, and not to become involved with any women who have young children without the prior approval of his probation officer.

Bundy must also undergo sex offender treatment and submit to polygraph and other testing. Bundy was also ordered not to obtain prescriptions for medications designed to improve sexual functions without the prior approval of his probation officer.

Bundy’s expected release date from the Dakota County Jail, with time off for good behavior, is March 2, 2013.
