Mother's Day Fire Damages Two Eagan Apartments

No one was injured in the blaze. Eagan firefighters have not yet identified the cause of the fire.

Two apartments were damaged and two resident temporarily homeless following a Sunday evening fire at Forest Ridge Apartments in Eagan.

Eagan Fire Department crews were called to the apartment complex, located at 1271 Redwood Point, just after 5:30 p.m. The caller told 911 dispatch officials that flames were visible on the deck of an apartment in the complex.

When emeregency responders arrived, they found smoke and flames on the exterior the apartment. By the time fire crews were able to contain the fire, the flames had spread down to the deck of another apartment directly below the first unit.

The two adult residents of the apartment where the fire began were displaced from their home due to fire damage, Eagan Fire Chief Mike Scott wrote in a press release. However, no one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.

All five of Eagan's fire stations responded to the fire. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
