City Council Preview: New Yogurt Shop Coming to Promenade?

The Eagan City Council will hold a regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3.

The Eagan City Council will convene at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday night at City Hall to hold a regular meeting. Here's a preview of a selection of agenda items the council is expected to discuss. For a full agenda, click here.

  • Last year, in Eagan and destroyed the restaurant's outdoor deck. On Tuesday, the council is expected to vote whether to approve a conditional use permit to allow outdoor patio dining at the restaurant's soon-to-be rebuilt patio. The Cherokee Sirloin Room's proposal includes a satellite bar on the outdoor patio and the addition of a second bocce ball court to the restaurant.
  • CherryBerry, a self-serve yogurt bar, wants to occupy the former Blockbuster property in the Eagan Promenade. On Tuesday, the council is expected to vote whether ot approve a planned development amendment to allow a 2,030-square-foot yogurt shop and a new monument sign at the shopping center. The Eagan Advisory Planning Commission is recommending approval of the yogurt shop, but is recommending denial of the monument sign.
  • The council may vote to approve the rezoning of 4.8 acres of property owned by Northwood Equity, LLC. at 3265 Northwood Circle from business park to planned development zoning. The rezoning would allow outdoor vehicle storage on the site, a widening of the driveway onsite and new trash enclosures.
  • The Eagan Economic Development Authority will convene on Tuesday to discuss a proposal by Paragon Outlets for the acquisition and redevelopment of 35 acres of property in the Cedar Grove Area for the construction of a 400,000-square-foot or larger retail outlet center. The EDA is expected to vote whether to approve the company's preliminary redevelopment concept plan. If the EDA approves the preliminary plan, city staff would likely begin drafting a real estate agreement between the EDA and Paragon Outlets for the area defined in Paragon's concept plan.
