Eagan High School Girls Hockey Team Heading to State

Tickets for the game will be available at Eagan High School.

The Eagan girls hockey team is heading to state following a 2-1 win over Apple Valley earlier this week.

The Wildcats outshot Apple Valley 29-6 in the first two periods of the game, and survived a third-period push by their opponents at the Class 2A Section 3 championship game held at Veterans Memorial Community Center in Inver Grove Heights. Alanna Stangl and Emily Johannes scored Eagan's two goals. Megan Wolfe had two assists. The girls finished the season with a 22-3 record.

Eagan is the first team to qualify for state. After every section championship result is known the tournament will be seeded. The hockey team will play on  Thursday, Feb. 23, but a time for the game has not yet been set.
