Eastview Scores State High Kick Title Again—Burnsville Takes Third

Eastview High School danced to its third consecutive Class AAA High Kick title Saturday in the Minnesota State High School League dance team finals in the Target Center in Minneapolis.
The Lightning performed a piece called “Bolero” to win the high kick title. It was the seventh overall title for Eastview, winning previously in 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2012.

Brainerd was second in the high kick competition, followed by Burnsville, Wayzata, St. Cloud Tech and Maple Grove. Though the Blazettes did not take first, they fared better than in 2012, when the team failed to place in spite of a strong start.
Two Burnsville girls, Jamie Krallman and Nicole Obregon were named to the high kick all-tournament team.

In Friday’s jazz finals, Maple Grove won the Class AAA title, followed by defending state champion Wayzata and Eastview.
