THE EAGAN YMCA WILL STAGE THE ANNUAL HOLIDAY PANCAKE BREAKFAST ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3

Kids and families from Eagan, Apple Valley, Rosemount, Inver Grove Heights and Mendota Heights will have Santa and craft activities with their pancakes at the YMCA building on Opperman Drive in Eagan between 9:00 and 11:30 a.m.

Families of Eagan, Apple Valley, Rosemount, Inver Grove Heights, and Mendota Heights are invited to join Santa for a holiday pancake breakfast at the Eagan YMCA on Saturday, December 3.  YMCA School-Age Care staff will be the cooks and serve the pancakes, sausages, juice and coffee. 

Activities include a silent auction, pictures with Santa, fitness and youth classes, holiday caroling, games, crafts and face-painting.  The Y will also be accepting donations for toys for tots, canned foods, and winter hats and mittens.

The YMCA School-Age Care programs provide before and after school childcare for nearly 2,000 students at their local schools.  Programs include time for art, health and fitness activities, homework assistance and character development activities.  Programs operate from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the school year.

“The YMCA successfully partners with Independent School District 196 throughout the year,” said Nyam Smith, executive director of the Eagan YMCA.  “This is a time to celebrate with the families we serve and the whole community.”  The Eagan YMCA also has School-Age Care programs at Faithful Shepherd Catholic School and Paideia Academy.

The event will be held in the childcare gym of the Eagan YMCA at 550 Opperman Drive in Eagan, from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, under the supervision of YMCA staff.  The cost is $10 for families, $5 for adults and $3 for children and children under three years-old eat free.  The event is in keeping with the Y’s theme of the importance of family time.

The Eagan YMCA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.  Its spirit, mind and body approach is applied through its fitness centers, with classes for all ages, day and overnight camps, and childcare services, as well as teen leadership programs.  The YMCA is open to provide financial assistance to those who cannot afford to participate in its programs.  The YMCA dates to its founding in England in 1844 in England, and the Eagan facility was built in 1994.
