Light Early-Week Schedule For Wildcats

Tuesday boys, girls lacrosse games moved to Wednesday.

The movement of both boys and girls lacrosse games from Tuesday to Wednesday made for a light varsity schedule for the Eagan athletic teams as the Wildcats continued preparations for the increasingly-closer postseason.

Softball: Wildcats Close Regular Season With Victory

A 12-1 defeat of Bloomington Kennedy on Monday at Kelly Fields gave the Eagan softball team an overall record of 10-8 and a 7-6 mark in the South Suburban Conference.

Pitcher Ciara Rivera claimed the win, while Kendra Callister led the Wildcats offense with a 2-for-4 day at the plate with three runs batted in and a home run.

Next up for Eagan is the Section 3AAA Tournament, scheduled to run from May 19-June 1. The Wildcats' opening-round opponent has not yet been determined.

Baseball: Eagan 6, Lakeville North 2

The Eagan baseball team improved to 12-6 overall and 9-6 in the South Suburban with a 6-2 win at Lakeville North on Monday. 

David Stevens had two runs batted in, with Tommy Bodeker notching an RBI in the victory as pitcher Charlie Conkel improved to 2-1 on the season with the win.

Eagan hosts Apple Valley on Wednesday at 4:15 p.m.

Boys Tennis: Eagan 6, Bloomington Kennedy 1

A 6-1 regular-season ending defeat of Bloomington Kennedy improved the Eagan boys tennis team to 13-4 overall and 8-1 in the South Suburban. 

Brendon Hollidge and Brandon Vuong each won 17 matches this season to lead the Wildcats, with Drew Nichols winning 16 matches this spring.

Eagan now moves on to the Section 3AA Tournament, in which the Wildcats are seeded second, with an opening round match against visiting No. 7 seed Apple Valley on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

Boys Golf: Eagan Sixth At Chaska Invitational

The Eagan boys golf team tied for sixth place at the Chaska Invitational on Monday with a score of 318 at the Chaska Tourn Course. Individual results were not available.
