Sports Roundup: Eagan Soccer Squads Claim Saturday Victories

Wildcats girls, boys, hold onto top-10 rankings entering this week.

With back-to-back victories on Saturday, both the Eagan boys and girls soccer teams held onto their respective top-10 rankings this week.

Girls Soccer

The Eagan girls soccer team ran its shutout streak to four games with a 1-0 defeat of sixth-ranked Eastview on Thursday and a 2-0 win over Shakopee on Saturday.

Entering this week at 9-1 and ranked fourth in the state, the Wildcats are led by Marissa Ganske's seven goals as goalkeeper Kristen Knutson has eight shutouts and 43 saves in 10 games played.

Boys Soccer

Following a 1-0 loss at fifth-ranked Eastview last Thursday, the Eagan boys soccer team topped Shakopee by a 4-2 score on Saturday to hang onto a No. 10 ranking and a 6-2-1 record.

AJ Albers continues to lead the Wildcats with 10 goals this fall, with Max Turnstedt logging a team-high six assists.

Volleyball

The eighth-ranked Eagan volleyball team swept Eastview in three-straight games (25-11, 25-12, 25-22) last Thursday to improve to 8-1 on the season. Individual statistics were not made available. 

Girls Tennis

The Eagan girls tennis team won its own Wildcat Invitational on Saturday with a 6-1 defeat of Burnsville, as well as 4-3 victories over Hastings and Elk River. Individual statistics were not made available. 

Girls Swimming and Diving

The Eagan girls swimming and diving team topped Burnsville, 94-84, last Thursday. Individual statistics were not made available.
