'Guitar Renegade' to Perform at Market Fest's Final Concert

On deck for this week: Greg Herriges & Telluric Currents with Ravi Prasad.

Market Fest's summer concert series is coming to a close, and for its last act Fest fans will be able to enjoy the “whirled music" of Greg Herriges and his band, Telluric Currents, with special guest Ravi Prasad.

Once called a "guitar renegade" by a reviewer in the Star Tribune, Herriges plays a kind of folk fusion that draws on an array of musical traditions from around the globe, with influences from the far East, Middle East and Indian subcontinent mingling with homegrown surf rock.

Herriges and company will perform at the fest on Wednesday, Aug. 28. The fest runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Eagan Festival Grounds at Central Park, 1501 Central Parkway.

The fest itself will continue through Sept. 25.
