<b>The East Valley Spartans are part of the Minnesota Rugby Football Union as a U-17 and U-19 Minnesota High School boy’s rugby club.  Spartan players represent Minnesota High Schools in District 196 located in the Twin Cities southeast metro.</b>

<b><strong>Rugby is a fast growing sport that develops strength, speed, agility, and endurance.  It is a great cross-over sport involving skills and concepts found and valued in many other popular sports.  </strong></b>

<b><strong>Although Rugby is very physically demanding, it is very safe and a sport for all athlete types.  With the absence of rigid pads and blocking, as well as the high standard of gentlemanly play, Ruggers do not have the same disregard for safety as you may have experienced in other sports.   At the heart of Rugby is a unique ethos which it has retained over the years.  Not only is the Game played to the Laws, but within the <i>spirit </i>of the Laws. Through discipline, control and mutual self-respect, a fellowship and sense of fair play are forged defining Rugby as the Game it is.   <br><br></strong></b>
