<b>Eagan High School Boys&#39; Soccer Liaison Coach: Mike Wagner</b> 

Although newly appointed volunteer varsity assistant coach Mike Wagner is new to the Eagan High School Soccer Staff this season, he will bring a wealth of playing and coaching experience and may already be a familiar face to many Eagan residents. 

Coach Wagner has taught special education at Glacier Hills Elementary School in Eagan for several years and spent five years coaching soccer at Dakota Hills Middle School, including the 7A boys&#39; soccer team for two seasons and led the 8A team for one season capturing the league title. 

Coach Wagner developed his passion for the game of soccer playing in the neighboring community of Burnsville. He played on traveling teams that consistently challenged for league titles and made numerous state tournament appearances culminating in a state championship as a U16 team. He also played soccer at Burnsville High School winning a state championship as a senior. He went on to start for Augsburg College as a freshman and eventually earned the honor of serving as a team captain. 

Coach Wagner’s coaching experience started in the Eagan in-house program. He has also coached for Eagan Traveling Soccer guiding a U11 and U12 boy’s team to consecutive Fall State Championship games as well as leading them to a U11 Summer State Tournament 3rd place finish. He has also served as referee at both the in-house and traveling levels in Eagan. 

Over the course of the last four years, Coach Wagner has been a paid talent evaluator for the Minnesota Thunder tryouts for one year. He also served as a paid coach for an Eagan U15 team one season. The last two summers he has served as a paid co-coach/assistant coach for a Valley United U16 and U17 Premier team that also competed in the Midwest Regional League. The Valley U16 team was co-premier league champions the first season and went undefeated in capturing the premier league championship in the second season. The U17 Valley team also finished 3rd in the Midwest league first division and was the runner-up in the Minnesota Sate Cup. 

In addition to serving as an assistant to the varsity, Coach Wagner will act as a liaison between the high school coaching staff and the newly formed Eagan High School Boys&#39; Soccer Booster Club. His goal is to ensure a positive high school education, as well as playing experience, for all players and families that are part of the Eagan High School Boys&#39; Soccer community.
